December 09 - Thanks for 2009!
As the year draws to a conclusion, we'd just
like to take the opportunity to say a massive
"Thank You!" to all those who've dived with
us and supported us. With your help, we've
raised thousands of pounds this year and we're
really looking forward to seeing how the money
is being put to good use. Dont forget to keep
an eye on the Shark Trust website as there
are lots of action plans and lots of information
about sharks and shark projects.
We'd also like to mention Ocean
View Diving in Lancing who have been wonderfully generous in hiring out kit to our shark divers at club member rates.
Although we're not anticipating any bookings
for the remainder of 2009, we'll be running a
dive on the 3rd of January before the SeaLife
Centre start work on their exciting new project
in the Ocean Tank. Dives will then be postponed
for a month but we'll be ready and raring to
go by February 14th so if anyone fancies a Valentines
Day dive, drop us a line!!!
December 09 - Another wonderful dive today!
Rachel arranged the dive as a special Birthday present for her partner Matt and judging by the smiles afterwards from both divers AND spectators,
everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Happy Birthday Matt! Hope you had a fabulous and memorable time!
The extra sponsorship money that Rachel and Matt have managed to raise will be very much appreciated by the charities
November 09 - Christmas is coming!
It's getting close to Christmas now and it shows!
We've had a number of enquiries about shark dive vouchers for partners, friends and family we're really happy when we can help out!! Just drop us a line if a shark dive is something you'd like to buy someone for Christmas or their Birthday
October 09 - New T-Shirts!
We liked the idea of offering our divers a souvenir of their dive with the sharks.
Jonny, our resident graphic artist came up with the design and we've now got some fabulous t-shirts available.
We've been lucky enough to get them professionally photographed by
Peter Baldrey.
Click here to see photos of the T-Shirt we're so proud of, wonderfully modelled by Sophie Lee.
The T-Shirts are available in "standard" and "skinny fit" styles and in a range of sizes.
Cost is £20 and part of the money raised is donated to The Shark Trust.
To order, simply email info@brightonsharkdive.co.uk with the size you'd like and your address
September 09 - Charity donations
We are proud to have handed over three cheques today! One to each of our beneficiary charities. Danny and Cathie representing The Shark Trust, Hillary representing Merlins Magic Wand and Rosie representing Tamar Project each received a cheque for their respective charities. We'd like to pass on a big, big "Thank You!" to all those divers who have contributed to this fantastic donation. A special thanks needs to go to Cathy Macartney for her exceptional fund raising!
August 09 - Stephen Winn dives for Leukaemia
Stephen Winn from Littlehampton took it upon himself to raise sponsorship for leukaemia research by doing a dive with the sharks. Steve managed to raise £600 thanks to his friends, colleagues and the shoppers at Wickes, Littlehampton where Steve is store manager. Pop along and chat to Steve about his dive!!
July 09 - Alex Mustard visits the Shark Tank
World reknown and award winning photographer Alex Mustard visited us
in July. Some of the results can be seen on the gallery page. Get in touch
with Alex via his website if you'd like a print of one of the photos.
They are spectacular!
Alex admitted that the low-light conditions were a real challenge but
the results are still great!
May 09 - Big boost for charity donations
Catherine Macartney came for a dive with the sharks and in the process she raised over £500 of sponsorship money in a very short time. The money will boost donations to the Shark Trust and TAMAR project charities! We're hugely grateful to Cathy for her enthusiasm and to her generous friends, family and colleagues at the Ambulance Service. Thank you Cathy!!
May 09 - Group discounts!
We are now running a group discount scheme on our charity dives! Groups of 4 divers pay only £80 each. £60 from each diver goes to support our charities. Why not get your friends and family to sponsor you?!!
Jan 09 - New Charities to benefit!
From January we increased the amount we donate to charity to £60 per diver. We also started making donations to The Shark Trust and the Merlin's Magic Wand charity as well as the TAMAR project. Check out their websites and show your support for the work they do.
